Description
Oceanic talisman This piece embodies what this entire collection is about a returning to our original home the sea. A return to oceanic consciousness merging with the oneness of all. All of life originates in water and reminds us of the interconnection of us all as a unified creative pulse. This piece has been hand made from recycled sterling silver which features a circle. The circle is a universal symbol with extensive meaning. It represents the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity, timelessness, all cyclic movement. The charms are handmade by me from fine silver metal clay one has a sea urchin texture. There is a white Ancient Roman Glass bead ranges in age from 500 BC to 1100 AD and has been buried for up to 2000 years giving it its unique opal quality. Two blue recycled glass beads with their lovely translucent ethereal blue. She measures to a length of 10 cm (3.5 Inches) and hangs on a 45 cm (17.5 inches) sterling silver cable chain. All of my work is made in my little coastal studio. I use traditional slow jewellery making techniques, each piece is individually made and not mass produced. The recycled sterling silver comes from a silver supplier who is committed to minimising environmental impact by recycling metal rather than using metals from new mines.
